Portfolio summary of 2007

Portfolio Total : 12,920.55 PLN ( 4,251.55 PLN + 1,745 PLN+ 97 PLN+ 6,827 PLN) = $ 5,295

After only just over 3 months I`ve managed to accumulate assets of more than $5k.
I have to admit I am more than happy because the stock markets have been volatile recently.
I turned to gold and silver coins and the rate of return is very satisfactory so far.
I`m going to sell a few coins in January in order to cash-in some profits.

It`s hard to find good investment opportunities right now. On the one hand my capital is limited and on the other I predict hard times in the stock markets in 2008. I really liked outrageous Saxobank predictions for 2008. Ron Paul a new president ? LOL.

I keep gold certificates here and keep my money on short positions against Polish stocks index.
In my opinion, they are overvalued and inflation rate above 4 % will make central bank rise interest rates soon, even in January.

Bank deposits 1,745 PLN

I enrolled to a credit union to get a better interest. Now I`ve got 6,5 % per annum. Not bad.

Currencies 97 PLN

I only keep symbolic 20 British pounds. Now most central banks are producing funny money. They say they are saving the markets. I think they are destroying them. We`ll see who`s right soon.

Silver coins 6,827 PLN

I like the bull market here. I`m going to sell some in January and then wait and see what`s next.

My main goal remains the same: to put aside even a small amount of cash every single week. It could be even $20, but discipline and consistency will do. Of course, I need help of my friend, compound interest, too.

What`s going on in the States ?

I thought you had a free market there.
If so, why is the information about REAL subprime losses hidden ?
I can`t understand it.
If I were American, I would demand it from my bank as a shareholder or a depositor.
Why do you Americans let big banks shut the door in front of your noses ?
It`s neither democratic nor transparent.
I don`t like it.
It has a very bad impact and discourage investors.

I`m sorry for my absence here for some time.
Next week I`ll update my portfolio.
There were no significant changes.
I still keep myself away from stocks.
After Fed cut on Tuesday I`ll see how strong NYSE is.
I`m not sure if the current rally is real ;)

Currently I`ve got an electronic gold ounce. Stoploss 1,800 PLN.
I sold my equities and consider current stock market as a real Las Vegas casino. I don`t like gambling.
Big mutual funds are pushing up stock prices and want to convince other investors that everything is alright.
I don`t believe that cutting interest rates really helps. The dollar is on the edge of crash. Many of the folks labeled subrime mortgage borrowers weren`t going to pay any installments at all. Should they get 0 % interest rate, they won`t change their minds.
Most banks still don`t admit how big losses they created producing funny investment vehicles based on those “mortgage loans”.
I`ll skip equities in December for sure.

I left only some units of Money fund and I`ll wait till January.

The Cash here is deposited at 4.75 % a year. It`s an Internet account so I can use them at any time I see a better investment opportunity

I finished my shopping here. Time to sell some. I`ll try more grading, too.
Last wek I spent 450 PLN on grading and new coins. It`s enough.

I don`t understand why Federal Reserve guys want to cut interest rates when $ is so weak.
It`s not my problem, but soon I`ll be able to sell my flat and buy an apprtment in LA. LOL.
